The mission at Cultivate is simple, empower you to optimize your work relationships through data. Our path together will require communication, sharing information, and a mutual trust. Consider this policy the first promise to pass between us, a pledge to protect the knowledge you have and the information you share.

Cultivate takes your privacy seriously. We are committed to providing you with transparency into our privacy practices and control over your data in connection with the services and features we provide (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy covers Cultivate’s treatment of personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") and other data that Cultivate gathers when you access the Service. The Service is not available to individuals who are younger than 13 years old.

What Personal Information is collected?

Personal Information you provide to Us

We receive and store any Personal Information you enter on our Service. The types of Personal Information collected may include, but are not limited to, emails, messaging, and calendar account information. Information you provide is used for such purposes as providing you with insights into your worklife and workplace relationships. We may also draw upon this Personal Information in order to adapt the Service to your needs, to research the effectiveness of our network and Service, and to develop new tools for our community.

Information we receive from third parties

We may receive and store information from third parties that interact in some ways with the Service or that provide services to us in connection with the Service. In addition, you may choose to use third party apps that share with Cultivate the Personal Information, activities and/or content you provide to those third party apps. Please read the privacy policy of any such app so that you understand its sharing practices.

Cultivate uses certain 3rd party services such as Google Analytics and Mixpanel to collect data and monitor application usage and performance.


Not as tasty as they sound, cookies are small bundles of data that usually contain an anonymous identification code specific to each user. A cookie is sent from a website, received by your browser, and stored on your computer. It all seems kind of scary, but our cookies do little more than record basic session information.

You are always in control

The only person who can choose to share your Personal Information is you, if you wish to share any of your Personal Information using Cultivate’s sharing features.

We neither rent nor sell your Personal Information to anyone, though we may provide aggregate, non-personally identifiable information to our partners. We may also share Personal Information within our organization.

The one exception: we may release Personal Information when we believe in good faith that release is necessary to comply with applicable laws, rules or regulations, including any applicable laws, rules or regulations outside your country of residence; to enforce or apply our conditions of use and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cultivate, our employees, our users, or others.

Is Personal Information about me secure?

Your Personal Information is protected on Cultivate by your username and password, for your privacy and security. To prevent unauthorized access to your account and to your Personal Information you must select and protect your password appropriately, and limit access to your computer and mobile phone to only those individuals who you trust to maintain your privacy and security. Cultivate strongly advises against sharing your password with anyone.

Cultivate endeavors to safeguard Personal Information to ensure that information is kept private, through physical, electronic, and procedural measures. Personal Information is encrypted both in transit and at rest. In transit, all communications are secured using TLS/SSL. While at rest, data is encrypted both at the volume level and message level, with encryption keys stored in a hardware security module (HSM) with tamper-proof audit logs.

However, please be aware that despite our best efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

For users located outside of the United States, note that as part of the Service your Personal Information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Use of Google User Data

You are requested to provide access and information about your Contacts in order to be able to use the Service and enhance the analytics about your Contacts. When you provide us with access to your Contacts, you acknowledge and agree that we may use such information as part of the Service, as described in this Privacy Policy and you confirm that you have the rights and permissions to provide such access to your Contacts. Similarly, when you provide us with permissions and access to your Google account, we may access and use your Contacts for the purpose of the Service. Please note that at any time, you can choose to opt-out from having your Contacts accessed by us by following the instructions below.

At any time, you may stop using the Service and request for a full removal of your data (via an e-mail to This email should include the subject line "Request to delete my data" and an explicit request from you that you want to close your account and delete all of your data.

Will there be changes to this Privacy Policy?

Cultivate may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time, at its sole discretion. Use of any Personal Information we collect now or in the future will be subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time Cultivate uses such Personal Information. If we make material changes to the way we use Personal Information, we will notify you by posting an announcement on our Service or by sending you an email to the address you have registered with us. Users will be bound by any changes to the Privacy Policy when they use the Service after they have first been notified of such changes.
